Although Queen B won’t be a regular on the summer circuit, plenty of big name performers will be. Herein, other cities with cool music festivals to check out this summer, and where to check-in.

Jack White, Queens of the Stone Age and The National are the headliners at Shaky Knees in Atlanta’s Central Park, May 4 to 6. Night owls can even double dip on some of the main acts at late night sets that kick off after 11 p.m. Whether one aims to keep the party going or wind down, the W Atlanta Downtown facilitates both—and it’s not far from the festival grounds.

The variety of acts at Bottlerock over the Memorial Day long weekend rivals the Napa wine varietals—Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, Incubus, Earth, Wind & Fire and Billy Idol are all on the bill, along with many more. California wine country bursts with beautiful places to stay, but Andaz Napa (pictured) is especially cool and convenient.

Boston Calling brings Eminem, Jack White, Khalid, Paramore and more to the Harvard Athletic Complex over the Memorial long weekend. The Liberty, a Luxury Collection Hotel is a National Historic Site that’s been given a way cool reno (pictured), and it’s location near the Red Line to Harvard makes getting to the festival a little easier too.

A brand new 10-day event (May 25 to June 3) in London’s Victoria Park, All Points East includes three days of music with headliners LCD Soundsystem, The xx and Björk. To really make a weekend of it, bring friends and book one of Town Hall Hotel and Apartments’ très cool two or three bedroom flats.

The first weekend (June 23-24) features Muse, Haim, Bruno Mars and Demi Lovato, then the second (Jun 29-30) brings in The Killers, Chemical Brothers. Katy Perry and Jessie J. Stay at the stylish Tivoli Avenida Liberdade Lisboa—for its Sky Bar (pictured) and close proximity to public transit, for starters.

Blowing into The Windy City is Pitchfork (July 20-22) in Union Park with Ms. Lauryn Hill, Fleet Foxes and Chaka Khan. A couple weeks later, Lollapalooza (Aug 2-5) in Grant Park brings The Weeknd, The National, Vampire Weekend, Odesza and even LL Cool J (Jack White too). The W Chicago City Center is almost halfway between both festivals, or opt for the W Chicago Lakeshore for Lake Michigan views.

The lineup at new festival Skookum (September 7-9) brings The Killers, Florence and The Machine, St. Vincent and Father John Misty to Vancouver, alongside some homegrown bands. Set in Stanley Park, festival goers can easily bike in via the Sea Wall. With its prime location and complimentary guests bicycles, the Loden Hotel is the perfect place to overnight.
