Kimpton Style in the Sunshine State

by Darren Dunne

Through a dedication to personalized service and the boutique feel of their 60 plus locations, Kimpton Hotels have been building quite the reputation in the hospitality world. Combine this with a little rest and relaxation in the Sunshine State and it’s easy to see why their Florida locations have been earning rave reviews. We take a closer look at Kimpton’s Kiwi Collection portfolio in Florida.

Kimpton EPIC Hotel, Miami

To carry a name like EPIC Hotel, an accommodation needs to pull out all the stops; to offer something out of the ordinary, something befitting of the name. Upon arrival, it’s clear the choice was no idle boast, as the skyline views, gorgeous accommodations and sparkling service combine to create a truly epic proposition.

Epic Hotel

Accommodations

On a perch 18 to 30 floors above Biscayne Bay, EPIC Hotel hosts 411 guest accommodations rich in eye candy and high-tech amenities. Most provide a view over the Bay or Miami skyline from a private balcony, while the impressive 55-inch Samsung Smart TVs can be controlled via smartphone. The oversized bathrooms are havens of relaxation that feature separate rain head showers and soaking tubs.

Facilities

No big deal, but EPIC Hotel features its own private marina, allowing guests to arrive in style via yacht, or even just to embark on a relaxing day of deep-sea fishing. If you’d rather be in the water than on it, there are two shimmering pools on the sixteenth-floor pool terrace with private cabanas and plenty of people watching potential. If relaxation is high on the list, there’s also the Exhale Spa and feature-packed fitness center to explore. Zuma is the hotel’s Japanese restaurant, taking its inspiration from the informal Japanese dining style called izakaya. At Area 31, Executive Chef Wolfgang Birk blends worldly influences with local dishes to create cuisine that’s all at once elegant and approachable.

Kimpton Vero Beach Hotel & Spa

Leave the map and compass at home, at Vero Beach Hotel & Spa the gold is easily found on Florida’s Treasure Coast. This beachfront hotel is located between Palm Beach and Orlando, and while the Treasure Coast may not enjoy the recognition of its neighbors, it’s not known as “The Hamptons of Florida” for nothing.

The Atlantic Ocean is a mere stone’s throw from the front of Vero Beach Hotel, but there’s a world of activity to be found within the hotel walls. A lavishly landscaped pool deck features a large outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and sheltered chaise lounges. The hotel spa is an oasis of serenity with a customizable array of treatments. That’s not all, though, there are also two trendy eateries located within the hotel, Heaton’s Reef Bar & Grill, and Cobalt, the hotel’s gourmet seafood restaurant.
