It’s called the Palace Hotel and it plays the part to perfection. Our kids truly believed they were staying in an old palace. They imagined that a prince and princess used to live here many years ago and they absolutely loved it.

In all, there are 553 rooms and a variety of suites. We stayed in the Governor’s Suite over a very hectic New Year’s weekend. The suite was very spacious, very grand and very comfortable.

The hotel’s location on Montgomery Street is ideal for people who love to get out and see the city. The street cars are below. It is within easy walking distance (or a few minutes drive) from the Ferry Building, the Financial District and Union Square.

If you go there around Christmas time they have the most amazing Christmas tree set up in the middle of the Garden Court restaurant.
