Miami funk and Florida free spirit make the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach an unforgettable stay for nightlife aficionados and beach bums.

Fantastically convenient for families, The Kid's Club offers all sorts of events for little ones.
Built on a sandbar and established as America's bastion of Art Deco architecture, South Beach, Miami is a seamless merge of city vibrancy and beach slovenliness. Ritz-Carlton, South Beach is a beach-facing hotel surrounded by throngs of bikini-clad vacationers seeking patio cocktails.

Notorious debauchees Gianni Versace and Iggy Pop have called South Beach home, and a stay here will show you why. Seek signature Miami Bass or pounding house at the Winter Music Conference, and bolster your energy at the Lincoln Road restaurants where fresh seafood and brilliantly colored fruits make the most of sunny Florida's natural resources.

Guest rooms face the ocean or pool, which splashes bright green and blue across the dark cherry furniture. Matching the vivid decor, the in-house spa offers mineral body cocoons and spray tan to prepare for the skin-baring beach.

Excellent service, beautiful room. Wish there were some special KIWI benefits

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Ritz hotel, during Art Basel. I specifically chose to come to Ritz for some rest and relaxation after the exhaustion of nonstop art events and parties. My expectations were well met and exceeded at times.

I was given room 338, the same floor as the spa and meeting rooms. They upgraded me, with no charge. I had the Lanai room, which has an extra long private balcony, which i adored. The room was huge, about 1000 sq ft with view of the pool and of the ocean. The bathroom was all marble, very beautiful. And the decor was modern luxurious, very classic, quite unlike the neighboring Delano, Raleigh and others, which eschew classy in favor of trendy and consequently have furniture that looks all bought from IKEA rather than Design Within Reach. It really is a gem, to have a traditionally classy, exquisite service place on Collins. I have only a few comments for improvement:

1. The door that separates the third floor guest rooms and the conference rooms and spa was noisy, it would slam shut, and occasionally i would be awoken by it in the mid to late morning (i was sleeping waaay in, like until 1pm). They should either fix that door, or replace with a door that shuts silently.

2. The poolside and beachside beds and etc had different prices, the lounge chairs were free, but the big beds with shades were $250 to rent for the day, i found this ridiculous. It included champagne but still. To rent without the services or amenities, it was $100. Ridiculous.

3. The Ritz Carlton used/offered private label bath products, i wished they used Molton Brown, L'Occitane, or others.

4. Compared to the elegant furnishings the trashcans were quite out of place, just slightly ugly black pastic bins.

5. The bathroom, for some reason lacked towel holders near the sinks. That was inconvenient.

6. A better marked Collins Avenue door would be convenient. It was hard to find that exit. The main exit is on Lincoln Road.

That's all, it was a great stay, and I cant wait to go back next year. This is not a trendy hotel, for partying, but a very classy, luxurious one, for resting and relaxing in, with arguably the best property in town.

staff were highly professional

Service was proper but it is inadmissible that this hotel charges its guests $20.00 for an umbrella at the beach. Like the chairs, the umbrellas should also be complimentary. At Boucher Brothers, next to the Ritz's spot on the beach, they charge $15.00 for their shade.I stay every summer at the Aqualina, and there the beach umbrellas are always free. Please review your policy to ensure that such a small detail does not ruin the overall experience. Cheap! And that does not represent RC service.

Surrounded by harbors, marinas, and sandy beach, it must be difficult to get any work done on South Beach. Miami's seaward arm is just 20 minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from Highway 95. Close to Everglades National Park and Key West, the Ritz-Carlton makes it easy to arrive and easy to escape.
