Imagine a luxury hotel in Hong Kong that is both calm and exciting, a place that makes good days even better, and where each exquisite inch welcomes you home ... home to The Upper House, that is.

The acclaimed NYC-based restaurant, Café Gray Deluxe sits on level 49, and is well worth a stop - even if it's simply to whet your whistle.
For those who haven't been to Hong Kong before, a trip here is overdue, and for those who have, may we suggest a stay at The Upper House on your next visit? Tucked away in a historic city, this boutique hotel offers a calm escape from the wayward world, stunning views of ancient Victoria Harbor - its port is still used by thousands of international vessels each year - and subtle, understated style so inherent to this part of the world.

Architect Andre Fu, the "Asian sensation," has created rooms that convey calm and comfort. Starting at 730 sq. ft., the 117 rooms - including 21 suites and two penthouses - are some of the most spacious in Hong Kong.

Chef Gray Kunz is the other resident artist, whose medium of choice is food. Dine at the Cafe Gray Deluxe, and you will understand what that means. His appointment at The Upper House convinced Kunz to return to Hong Kong for the first time since the 1980s, a fact for which his discerning guests will be grateful.

Probably one of the best luxury hotel experiences I've had to-date.

Blown away by the personalized attention from the guest services team. Wonder what that lobby scent is and the next time you return to you room there's a signature scent spray with a note on your desk. Miss lunch service at Cafe Gray? Later that afternoon there is a custom room service menu carefully laid out for you on the bedside table.

This is the only time I've seen a boutique hotel (there are only a dozen floors or so) actually get it 100% right and be able to offer the flawless service you'd get at a full-scale luxury hotel. I was at The Upper House for 9 days and could have stayed another week.

I purposely chose one of the rooms facing The Peak and was treated with a vista of lush green forest whenever I returned to my room. Great choice, as you can get lights and skyscrapers anywhere in Hong Kong. Greenery is at a premium on the island, though. The bathrooms are really well designed and one of the highlights of the room.

Only thing I can fault the hotel on is Cafe Grey... breakfast is great (and so are the staff) but I was unimpressed by the quality of the food at lunch and dinner.

I'll definitely stay with The Upper House again.

Upper House

Fabulous in every respect

First Class all the way

The Upperhouse is a gem in a city where 5 Star properties stand shoulder to shoulder.

This was our second trip to HK and we waned to try something different from the 'big' chain properties we stayed at before (W hong Kong, Four Seasons and Mandarin Oriental) - after reviewing KC and trip advisor for several weeks, we decided on the UpperHouse.

The property is so hi-tech, from being checked in to your room on an iPad, to getting your own iPod Touch with the hotel app pre loaded with everything you might need from room service to concierge - it's simply magnificent, as were the views, the hospitality and not to mention the location. I could not fault a thing.

The UpperHouse is definitely THE hotel to try on your next visit to Hong Kong!

Best stay,Perfect design

Great hotel, kiwi Users can also enjoy a free upgrade. Large living room, large bedroom, large bathtub facing the sea, Breakfast is on the 49th floor. All you need for a romantic getaway. The shops in lobby are worth checking out.

Quietly Luxurious

This hotel is highly recommended - very convenient for MTR and a short walk in either direction to Central or Wan Chai.
Rooms are big and bathrooms huge. Staff could not be more helpful.
