An awe-inspiring location and pampering guest experience helps Cape Weligama set new standards in luxury on Sri Lanka's sunset coast.
Cape Weligama's bountiful setting places it near a wealth of fascinating sights. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Galle Fort is a 30-minute drive along the coast, while the slender column of Dondra Lighthouse inhabits the island's southernmost tip to the east. Closer to home, the resort sits on a lush headland overlooking the Indian Ocean. Palm trees sway in the trade breezes, while a crescent-shaped infinity pool seems to float above the turquoise waves.
One of Asia's most celebrated architects, Lek Bunnag, was the brains behind the design of the 39 private retreats at the resort. Some sit ocean front, but the majority are built into the hill, affording panoramic views of the ocean and plenty of seclusion.
