More than just a hotel, Es Raco d'Arta is a wellness-oriented retreat that dates all the way back to the 13th century. This magical escape features an extensive farm, spa, vineyards, and picturesque setting next to Mallorca’s Parc Natural de Llevant.

For nearly 800 years, the vast grounds in which Es Raco d'Arta sits was one of Mallorca’s largest rural estates. While things have gotten decidedly more luxurious since then, the hotel still features a working farm with 14 acres of vineyards, olive trees, an organic garden and a bee colony boasting over four million bees. For those seeking to disconnect and live among pristine natural surroundings, this small slice of Balearic beauty is peerless.

Architect Toni Estava is widely known in Mallorca for his dreamy country house renovations, and his work on Es Raco d'Arta is the highlight of his impressive career. The décor is rustic yet luxurious, with whitewashed walls, beamed ceilings and carpets woven from raw wool and jute. The estate’s main house features eight rooms brimming with classic charm, while two standalone casas and 21 casitas are perfect for those seeking a little more privacy. Both casa and casitas feature their own private pools.

Visitors to Es Raco d'Arta’s spa are treated to a light-filled and rejuvenating spa experience with views over the rugged Mallorcan countryside. A full slate of innovative spa therapies await discovery, ranging from deep tissue massages to watsu water therapy massages – a waterborne form of Shiatsu massage. There’s also an indoor pool, yoga, meditation and Turkish baths.

When it comes to Es Raco d'Arta’s dining offering, it’s unfair to call Beni Axir simply a restaurant. Instead, this gastronomic space is a celebration of the hotel’s agricultural roots. The menu of staple Mediterranean fare is made from organic ingredients sourced as close to the kitchen as possible – with many coming from the hotel’s own farm. Everything else is sourced from local producers and artisans. It’s an authentic farm to table experience informed by centuries of tradition.
