How do we rate a property?
We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.
From the quality of the food served in the restaurant to the amenities offered in each bedroom, we carefully rate each property to make sure it meets our high expectations.

About This Hotel
Uncover the mysteries of Easter Island and immerse yourself in its enigmatic culture at the all-inclusive Nayara Hangaroa. This beautiful hotel offers understated luxury, restorative healing, and world-class dining.
Known as one of the world’s most isolated islands, Easter Island is a magical and sacred place that’s located far off the western coast of Chile. The island is home to over 900 Moai statues carved from volcanic rock. At Nayara Hangaroa, staff take pride in showcasing this rich indigenous culture, connecting guests to the awe-inspiring history all around them.
Nayara Hangaroa is a hotel that fits seamlessly into the natural beauty of its island home. It’s housed within many low-rise buildings with circular walls and grass-covered roofing. Sustainability is built into every facet of the sprawling 10-hectare site, with innovative natural insulation avoiding the need for air conditioning. Rainwater is also recycled for use around the hotel, while hundreds of trees in danger of being lost were repurposed throughout the grounds.
Guests at Nayara Hangaroa have 69 delightfully appointed rooms and six apartment-like suites to choose from. Floor-to-ceiling windows bathe these harmonious spaces in natural light, while native materials like Cypress logs, local clay and volcanic stone immerse guests in the Rapa Nui culture of the island. Amenities include outdoor terraces, twice daily maid service, and complimentary Wi-Fi Internet.
With an indoor and al fresco dining area, hotel restaurant Poerava offers the perfect venue for all-day dining. Pull up a chair and enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean as you sample a mix of traditional Rapa Nui and international cuisine. Chilean wines play a starring role on the wine list, with wine pairing dinners available to guests. Elsewhere, Kaloa Restaurant serves up surf and turf classics in a lounge-like atmosphere, and there’s also Vaikoa bar for tropical cocktails and magnificent sunsets.
Wellness is a key part of the guest experience at Nayara Hangaroa, with Manavai Spa providing a serene atmosphere for rest and rejuvenation. Enjoy a range of bespoke treatments that blend traditional healing therapies with the latest in spa innovation. Seeking a little more adventure? The hotel can arrange island explorations on foot, bike or motorcycle.
