While the village of Jose Ignacio brims with quaint whitewashed cottages, Playa Vik Jose Ignacio is instantly recognizable from a distance. This architectural gem incorporates natural elements throughout the property with mesmerizing results. One example is the vibrant “living roof” which contains hundreds of colorful Uruguayan flowers.

Designed by noted Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott, the guest accommodations consist of 16 light-filled two/three bedroom casitas and spacious suites. The décor is consistently contemporary, each with a fireplace, original artworks and hand-painted floors.

The dining here focuses on fresh seafood, locally grown greens, and a wealth of delicious Uruguayan beef. It comes served in a sparkling indoor dining room with panoramic views of the beach.

Despite its small size, there’s still plenty to see and do at Playa Vik Jose Ignacio. Take to the gym and work off the excellent cuisine, indulge in a treatment at one of two spa treatment rooms, of visit Estancia Vik and take to horseback for polo or scenic rides.
