How do we rate a property?
We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.
From the quality of the food served in the restaurant to the amenities offered in each bedroom, we carefully rate each property to make sure it meets our high expectations.

A hip local hangout, Santa Monica Proper Hotel brings a looser kind of luxury to LA’s best-loved beach town.
With interior designs from celebrated designer Kelly Wearstler, Santa Monica Proper Hotel remains faithful to Santa Monica’s trademark SoCal style. Natural wood and handmade textiles echo the organic tones of the local coastline, while the laid-back rooftop deck beckons guests with a restaurant, bar, cabanas and of course, glorious sunsets over the Pacific.
