We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.

Amid the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo, The Capitol Hotel Tokyu’s tranquility and refinement offer an urban oasis set around a Japanese garden.
In Tokyo’s central suburb of Nagatcho, guests at The Capitol Hotel Tokyu find themselves amid Japan’s seat of power. The National Diet (houses of parliament) are located a short walk away, as is the Prime Minister’s official residence and several embassies. It’s a surprisingly peaceful and convenient setting, with many subway lines accessible directly from the hotel’s basement.
Though it opened originally in the 1960s alongside glamorous guests like The Beatles, The Capitol Hotel Tokyu was completely rebuilt for the 21st century, re-opening in 2010 with a thoroughly modern Japanese hotel experience. The current skyscraper stands a stout 29 floors, containing 251 quintessentially Japanese guest accommodations. These high-tech rooms feature sliding shoji screen window shades, complimentary Wi-Fi Internet, and comfortable furnishings.
Spread across the 14th and 15th floors, the hotel’s Fitness Club features a gym, large 20 meter swimming pool, and Jacuzzi. There’s also the onset-style Carju Rajah Tiado spa, which fuses holistic and clinical treatments across a diverse spa menu.
