A very different part of New York, The Point in Saranac Lake is the last and most lavish of the Adirondack Great Camps, and a haven for travel connoisseurs.

Popular with famous clientele, The Point is a lavish Adirondack retreat set on a peninsula stretching into Upper Saranac Lake. Spread among four original lodges constructed of native timbre and stone are 11 unique guestrooms featuring huge picture windows and an eclectic mix of antique furniture and rustic touches such as mounted game and bearskin rugs. You might be tempted to stay in your plush custom-made bed all day ... but you'd be missing out.

There's swimming and canoeing in the lake, or boating in a fleet of vintage wooden boats. Hiking is wonderful year-round while cross-country skiing, ice fishing, or skating are a must in winter. Forgot to bring snowshoes? No problem, The Point has a pair just your size.

Once you've worked out an appetite, The Point's chef will gladly prepare a gourmet meal tailored to your particular dietary preferences and serve it at a table overlooking the lake, before a fire or family-style at communal tables with other guests.
