Estancia Santa Rita

Nestled in 40-hectare woods, planted 150 years ago, with avenues of eucalyptus, casuarinas and ombú trees is Estancia Santa Rita, situated in the "Partido de Lobos". Without doubt, one of the charms of Estancia Santa Rita is its history, which goes back to the times of the Virreinato.

The estancia originally covered 16,000 hectares in frontier land. The main house was built in 1790 by the Ezcurra family, then owners of the estancia. They extended the property in stages until approximately 1840. In 1890, the estancia was acquired by the provincial senator Antonio Carboni, founder of the small village of the same name located 4 km from the estancia.

Estancia Santa Rita remained in the Carboni family until 1988, when Isabel Duggan & Franklin Nüdemberg became the estancia's proud owners.

The facilities of Santa Rita include the main house, chapel and adjacent buildings. An intimate and cozy atmosphere is created by the living rooms with their fireplaces and reading corners, from which the guests can enjoy impressive views of the park. The spacious bedrooms were recycled observing the traditional style; they all have private bathrooms and have either fireplaces, beds with "baldaquino"or astonishing views.

Farther from the main house, the cañada offers the possibility of an unforgettable horseback riding, a meeting place for an ample variety of birds. A place where the wind blows without restrictions.

Santa Rita is an estancia situated in the "Partido de Lobos", 120 km from the city of Buenos Aires. Means of transportation from Buenos Aires are by car, train or bus. If you should decide to take the train please call Santa Rita ahead of time and the staff would be more than happy to meet you.
