The greatest, grandest property of them all is our planet, so Kiwi Collection created a special collection of eco-friendly hotels and resorts selecting only the most innovative and committed eco-luxury properties from around the world. For greener and more glamorous travel in 2012 and beyond, this is your list.
Joined by eco-tourism advocate and award-winning architect Hitesh Mehta, Kiwi Collection rigorously reviewed hundreds of hotels then handpicked 20 that take issues of sustainability, conservation and preservation seriously. You can read more about our selection process here.
The hotels include the off-the-beaten path properties you’d expect—Lake Manyara Tree Lodge in Tanzania, Nihiwatu in Indonesia—as well as within-city-limits ones you might not—The Savoy in London, The Ritz-Carlton in Berlin and The Breakers in Palm Beach. And for those unobstructed, awe-inspiring ocean views we all love, check out coastal properties such as Post Ranch Inn in Big Sur, and The Wickaninnish Inn in British Columbia. See the whole list here.
We hope to continually add to this list. However, as we do with the rest of the hotels in our Collection, if a property should fall below our set of standards its eco-friendly status will be rescinded. We mean it, no, we green it.
Pantone may have declared “Tangerine Tango” color of the year, but we think “Kiwi Eco-Green” looks better on you. Wink, wink.
