Hotels Barbie Would Love

Perched on prime Waikiki beachfront on Oahu since 1927, The Royal Hawaiian is nicknamed the Pink Palace of the Pacific because of its bright, bold façade. Barbie, Ken and friends could easily catch waves right out front.

Across the water in L.A., another hotel stakes claim to the Pink Palace moniker. The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows iconically contrasts its pink exterior with accents of green. For a splash of hot pink alongside all the pastel, hit up the Polo Lounge when the bougainvillea is going off.

Pink pops up in a few places at the Sands Hotel & Spa in Indian Wells. The bubblegum pink exterior is best enjoyed from a pool lounger, while over at the appropriately named Pink Cabana restaurant, the color adorns both the ceiling and banquette seating.

Dressed in mid-century modern furnishings, each room at The Vintage Lisbon is painted in a pretty shade, with pink being one of them. The gym is also pink-walled so guests can feel like Workout Barbie.

Depending on what the light is doing in Marrakech, the exterior of Amanjena can be soft pink or a touch more terracotta. Whenever it blushes, it’s a bona fide Barbie palace.

They don’t shy away from color at El Fenn, but for the fullest immersion into Barbiecore, there are supremely pink Extra Large Rooms to book into where the walls, carpet, chairs, pillows and even slippers are all pink.

If Barbie attended the Venice International Film Festival, she would definitely pull up by boat to stay at Splendid Venice – Starhotels Collezione with its perfectly pink façade.

Barbie isn’t the only “pinkophile.” Fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli favored a particular shade of fuchsia and The May Fair in London features it prominently in their homage Schiaparelli Suite. The vivid shade shows up on a sleek reading chair and all sorts of velvet accents.

For those like Barbie who love pink paired with high impact neon hues, Semiramis Hotel dishes it out. Futuristically designed by Karim Rashid, it contrasts ancient Athens by utilizing all the electrifying shades. Their colorful curvy pool surrounded by pink umbrellas also fits right into the Barbieverse.

Occupying three restored mansions in Mérida, Rosas & Xocolate boasts a bright pink exterior and corresponding accents everywhere. With its pink plastic dining chairs, the Courtyard provides a peak Barbie moment.

Vibrant hues abound at Las Alamandas and hot pink is one of them. The most unexpected places the color pops up is on the boat dock and a life-sized chess set. After Barbie’s queen takes Ken’s, they can set off from the pink dock for a romantic boat ride across the lagoon.

Of its four special First Lady suites, Riggs Washington DC made their Ida Mckinley one very pink (and purple) to honor the 25^th President’s wife and her love of flowers. Naturally, Barbie would love it too.

Another children’s character that fancies pink is Kay Thompson’s Eloise, a fictional young girl who lives in The Plaza Hotel. In turn, the New York hotel created a very real and very pink suite for fans to book into. Barbie would fit right in.

While pink is undeniably Barbie’s color du jour, she digs all brights which makes the beach setup of striped, primary loungers and parasols at The Confidante in Miami picture-perfect.

Located in trendy Yaletown and known for its differently colored rooms, OPUS Vancouver offers a few in a Barbie-approved shade of energizing magenta. If Barbie was invited to TED2024, she’d stay here.
