Southern Florida boasts a number of spectacular dive sites, and there’s one right in Miami that offers divers some weird looking creatures—Riviera Beach’s Blue Heron Ridge. When out of the water, the place to stay is on the water at The Breakers, Palm Beach. The historical property offers plenty of other entertainment too, in the form of multiple restaurants, swimming pools and golf courses.

Costa Rica teems with wondrous wildlife. For dives, the crème de la crème is a trip out to the Alcyone seamount near Cocos Island.
