One could spend hours extolling the virtues of Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, so let’s start with the obvious – this is one of the world’s most incredible looking resorts. Each of the main buildings sit waterfront between the verdant waters of the Pacific Ocean and a towering, rocky cliff at the southernmost tip of Baja California. Getting here is equally memorable too, with guests arriving via the 1,000-foot-long Dos Mares tunnel that separates the resort from the main tourist strip.

Carved into the cliffs of Pedregal Mountain, each of the 112 bespoke guest suites feature private plunge pools and views over the ocean. The décor is brimming with neutral, calming colors with warm accents and custom furniture and accessories by Mexican artisans. Each accommodation features a fireplace, along with a pair of binoculars to get a closer view of the whales that often frolic in front of the resort. For those who absolutely must stay in touch with the outside world, complimentary Wi-Fi Internet, flatscreen TVs and Bluetooth sound systems tick all the right boxes.

This being a Waldorf Astoria resort, the spa naturally proves a tranquil haven of healing and respite. Helmed by Executive Chef Gustavo Pinet, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal’s culinary experience encompasses several spectacular venues that live long in the memory. The cliffside El Farallon is the perfect place to begin, serving up a legendary ocean-to-table menu backdropped by dramatic views of the Pacific Ocean. Closer to earth, Don Manuel’s serves timeless flavors of Mexico in an airy hacienda setting by the beach. There’s also a nine-course taco tasting menu at TRAVESÍA, a unique Agave Study at Peacock Alley and Neutral Coffee Lab, learning the origins, methods and people behind the beans.
