10 Questions: Christina Binder-Egger, Das Posthotel
In our General Manager series, we catch up with heads of hotels for personal stories and insider perspective. This week, we get to know Christina Binder-Egger of Das Posthotel in Austria’s Zillertal Valley.
Grand Hotel SkyLoft. The open living concept in combination with the 360° balcony and views make this room a one-of-a-kind.
The Das Posthotel is a sustainable gem. As it is entirely built on a wood base, you feel the warmth of that material in every corner of the hotel. There are different types of wood of different ages up to 300 years old.

At Englhof Bar, the Dolce and Jamaicana with Appleton Rum, saffron, lime, elderflower and passion fruit.
At Gasthof Schulhaus, the Zillertaler Melchermus, a very local dessert. It’s very rich, full of sugar and full of carbs, but just delicious. One should skip lunch when thinking of this dessert for dinner. But it is really unique in taste and also a specialty in the Zlller Valley.
A very well equipped sports shop, Intersport Strasser, just across the street from the hotel. Just what you need when coming to the Ziller Valley for an active holiday—skies, jackets, sweaters, running shoes, hiking shoes, Nordic walking sticks.
Since we have Austria’s longest piste, skiing is the natural answer. The Ziller Valley offers 100% snow security because of our glacier skiing, so one can rely on perfectly prepared slopes. Austria’s largest ski resort offers a vast range of pistes from beginner to professional.
Just relaxing, especially at our Boutique Spa with treatment products from Susanne Kaufmann, an organic Austrian cosmetic brand.
To go into the forest with my husband, Reinhard, and our daughters, Marie-Theres and Leni.
Südtirol Quellenhof in Italy. We stayed there with the entire family and enjoyed every minute of it.
Tschuggen Grand Hotel Arosa. We would really love to experience their Mario Botta spa, and take their own mountain railway, Tschuggen Express, for a ride. Definitely a benchmark in ski tourism.
