These Splashy Presidential Suites Get Our Vote

It wouldn’t be a proper presidential suites listicle without one from the most presidential location in the U.S., the nation’s capital. Here, the Waldorf Astoria Washington DC has purportedly hosted every American head of state since Herbert Hoover in its presidential suite. Dressed in deep blues, soft whites and dark wood, the 4,000 square foot space includes a grand living area with a fireplace-fronting dining table for 10, private study, fitness room, king sized canopy bed and spa-style bathroom. The rest of your entourage can be put up by combining with other suites for up to three bedrooms.

While the hotel won’t name names, the Park Hyatt Toronto’s presidential suite has seen its fair share of celebrities—thanks to TIFF—and world leaders over the years. These days it’s looking fresher than ever after a multimillion-dollar renovation. The 1,825-square-foot suite features a stunning fireplace made of Eramosa stone sourced from 180 kilometers north in Owen Sound and a bronze art piece by An Te Liu that mirrors the large one at the hotel’s main entrance. With a 10-person dining table, it’s a swish spot to discuss political matters over a multicourse meal.

The Grand Hyatt Seoul is happy to dish on its renowned list of presidential suite guests. Queen Elizabeth II, Tom Cruise and U.S. President Joe Biden, as well his controversial predecessor, have all taken in 360-degree views of the Han River and Mount Namsan from here. Renovated in 2019, its standout design features include grand window arches and a spa-inspired bathroom with a circular stone whirlpool tub and separate gilded-tile shower. Should you have to send important emails in private, head into the elegant library which feels a little White House-esque.

Channel British royalty on holiday at Balmoral without having to marry into the family by booking the presidential suite at Grantley Hall, a former manor home to English nobility located two hours from Manchester. Accessed by a private hallway, the extra special suite is lavishly decorated in deep green velvet and golden accents, with its own bar and baby grand piano in the living room.

Speaking of royalty, a palace vibe pervades The Oberoi, Marrakech, where the presidential suite is a Presidential Villa with Private Pool. More than half of its total 4,000 square feet is devoted to a large private terrace with a heated pool and surrounding gardens, so there’s plenty of Moroccan sun to be had.

Talk about the high life—the Tata Suite, the presidential suite of The Pierre is perched on the 39^th floor overlooking Central Park and Manhattan all the way north to the George Washington Bridge on a clear day. Lit by Murano glass chandeliers from above, the two-bedroom, three-bath suite is just under 2,000 square feet, but expands to as many as six bedrooms with adjacent rooms, encompassing the entire floor.

Another sky-high stunner, Park Hyatt Bangkok’s presidential suite lives atop the sparkling 37-floor Central Embassy tower. Its more than 4,000 square feet includes a home theater, dining area, private gym and outdoor terrace. But you really get the feeling of floating above it all when taking a dip in the spa room’s plunge pool which fronts a wall of floor-to-ceiling windows framing the city beyond.

There’s a lot to oh la la over in the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendôme’s presidential suite, but we’ll scale it back to two things for the sake of brevity. One, its duplex design means there’s not one but two balconies serving up Eiffel Tower views. Two, there’s a whole ensuite spa with a hammam, jetted tub, massage table and hairdressing station; flooded with natural light, it’s the perfect place to primp and polish before facing any press.

Who wouldn’t want to feel positively presidential on holiday? Clocking in at 2,000 square feet, the presidential suite at Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya is on the top floor with a spacious terrace for soaking up the best sunset panorama. You can even watch the Caribbean sky change color over a game of pool—the suite features a full-size pool table, next to a four-seat bar for easy in-room cocktail breaks.
