In this area, some hotels shine above the rest, wholeheartedly embodying that spirit of community by giving back in many thoughtful ways, including donating volunteer time, funding schools and supporting local talent. We hold a spotlight on these hotels that give back.

The Breakers Palm Beach’s long list of social responsibility initiatives range from promoting environmentally sustainable practices to volunteering in the local community. All employees receive volunteer time off, with full-time employees allocated 16 hours and part-time employees eight hours of work time each year to engage in community service projects.

Tortuga Bay Puntacana Resort & Club created the Grupo Puntacana Foundation to develop solutions to tourism’s environmental and social challenges. The foundation is involved in a wide range of innovative projects, including improving schools, supporting a pediatric health center for children in need and training local fishermen in coral gardening.

They regularly donate food and prepare meals for local charities in and around Rome, have adopted and maintain a public park, and helped to repair and furnish a homeless shelter. Founded by Richard Branson’s mother, The Eve Branson Foundation aims to improve the living standards of the Berber communities surrounding Kasbah Tamadot. The foundation’s craft centers are providing young people with the training and tools to learn traditional Moroccan artisanal handicrafts, preserving the Berber heritage and providing income to the local community. The handmade items can be purchased from the Eve Branson Foundation Shop next to the hotel.

Friends and guests are also welcomed to contribute by making a donation or volunteering time.
