We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.

Nestled atop cliffs in a quiet corner of the Dominican Republic, Amanera provides a laid-back holistic option for Caribbean sunseekers and golfers alike.
Amanera draws its name from the Sanskrit word for "peace", a moniker that's more than appropriate given the resort's location on a large estate of lush jungle and royal palms. A Robert Trent Jones-designed golf course stretches along the cliffs on-site, sporting 10 rugged oceanfront holes.
Indoors, Amanera dazzles thanks to myriad world-class facilities and flourishes. Accommodations consist of 25 Casitas, each offering handcrafted living spaces constructed from natural materials and filled with Dominican art. Casa Grande anchors the resort, offering an open-air bar and lounge with ample seating nooks, with a large reception area, quiet library and cigar bar all close at hand.
The Dominican Republic offers year-round sun, and Amanera Beach Club provides the perfect lounging spot for an afternoon spent catching some rays. Here, guests can enjoy toes-in-the-sand dining, or just laze in a hammock and engage in some people watching.
