How do we rate a property?
We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.
From the quality of the food served in the restaurant to the amenities offered in each bedroom, we carefully rate each property to make sure it meets our high expectations.

Between dense jungle and a pristine tropical lagoon, Boca de Agua showcases a new, conscious form of hospitality that prioritizes environmental sustainability and unrivalled comfort.
While many hotels are quick to celebrate their sustainable bona fides, Boca de Agua is on a level entirely to itself. This fascinating boutique hotel was built from the ground up to regenerate and preserve nature, and sustainable practices are woven into every part of the experience.
Each of the 22 treehouse-style villas is immersed in lush jungle, carefully built around the existing mangroves to minimize environmental impact. These warmly textured spaces have primarily been constructed using upcycled and salvaged materials, with pops of color from custom artwork created by local artisans. An on-site wastewater treatment system ensures no water waste enters the lagoon.
During their stay at Boca de Agua, guests are immersed entirely in the serenity of nature, with over 90% of the hotel’s 82 acres remaining untouched. A beautiful example of this immersion is the hotel’s restaurant, Flora, a stunning space that mingles indoors and outdoors to create a memorable dining experience. The restaurant captures the essence of Mexican cuisine thanks to a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Stop by for all-day dining, or savor a colorful cocktail crafted by expert mixologists.
