Guests are encouraged to walk and bike the well-marked trails, or head out with the knowledgeable and friendly guides, who can educate you on the myriad species of birds and wildlife in this incomparable jungle paradise. You're best to start a list just to keep track: deer, peccaries, monkeys, ocelot, agouti, squirrels, grey foxes, kinkajou, frogs, insects, and snakes-oh my. There are Mayan ruins to explore, a covered pool and hot tub for relaxing post-hike afternoons, fantastic food, and luxuriously appointed thatched-roof cabanas.

The Chan Chich Lodge is located on the Gallon Jug Estate in northwestern Belize. The lodge is in the heart of "La Selva Maya" or Maya Forest, and is surrounded by protected area and a 250,000-acre private nature reserve. To get to the Chan Chich Lodge, guests arriving at Belize's Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport can take a 30-minute charter flight to the Gallon Jug's own airstrip, or arrange a guided road/river daytrip that stops at various points of interests on the way.
