The Peruvian coast of Paracas is wild and rough, with crashing waves and sculpted rock. View it all from a splendid seaside pedestal at Hotel Paracas.

Sipping on your locally-invented Pisco Sour, (likely one of the most well-balanced cocktails anywhere) the dull crashing of waves is pleasantly punctuated by the odd call of a pelican searching for its next meal. Speaking of meals, why not order one up? Certainly easier than diving into the sea. Silly bird.

Here in the Ica region of Peru, nature and leisure intertwine in an easy balance. Boat tours head out to watch the always-playful sea lions basking and chattering, while plane tours take off over the Nazca Lines, mysterious giant pictographs out in the barren desert.

At the hotel itself, a placid infinity pool acts as the center-point for 120 modern rooms, clad in bamboo, marble, and all the technological niceties you'd imagine. Not to mention the terrace, your own little outdoor oasis.
