How do we rate a property?
We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.
From the quality of the food served in the restaurant to the amenities offered in each bedroom, we carefully rate each property to make sure it meets our high expectations.

About This Hotel
The Lodge at Ashford Castle is the perfect place to enjoy the idyllic Irish countryside. Overlooking beautiful Lough Corrib, this luxury boutique hotel oozes old-country charm.
Sitting within the magnificent 350 acre estate of the 13th century Ashford Castle, The Lodge overlooks Lough Corrib and the hills of Connemara with a view to rival the best in the world. The picturesque lakeside surroundings make it the ideal setting for a destination wedding or romantic escape in one of the most stunning locations in Ireland.
Originally built in 1865, The Lodge at Ashford Castle exudes classic refinement with modern appeal across 38 deluxe bedrooms and 26 suites. Each is individually designed with meticulous attention to detail and original artworks.
Discover exceptional fine dining at the hotel's Wilde’s Restaurant. This traditional dining outlet specializes in contemporary Irish cuisine, served with creative flair. Home grown produce forms the backbone of the menu, with ingredients sourced from local artisanal suppliers. The Quay Bar and Brasserie provides a more informal setting, with impressive views across the water.
Try a unique range of activities from falconry to fishing, golf, cycling and equestrian sports; to archery, clay shooting and breathtaking lake cruises. After a busy day, return to The Lodge where passionate hospitality and a warm Irish welcome awaits.
