How do we rate a property?
We rate all our hotels, resorts, and lodges using our own bespoke grading system. We'll only invite a property into our collection once it's been assessed by one of our specialists. If it doesn't impress us, it doesn't make the cut.
From the quality of the food served in the restaurant to the amenities offered in each bedroom, we carefully rate each property to make sure it meets our high expectations.

About This Hotel
When it comes to safari, why settle for anything less than what's playfully known as the Elephant Capital of the World? Track the towering giants at Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge in peaceful, natural Botswana.
Sheltered under the gnarled arms of massive acacias, Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge provides adventure-seekers a luxurious nest from which they can safely watch the world's most formidable beasts traverse the plains of the savannah.
Expect to see families of elephants lumber by, stripping the leaves off nearby trees, from the spacious balcony of your deluxe suite. Prides of lions 30 to 40 strong will likely follow. Not to mention zebras, cheetahs, leopards, wild dogs, and more than 250 species of flamboyantly feathered birds that populate the terrain.
If you can pull yourself away from the onsite facilities, which include an outdoor swimming pool, a library and elevated wildlife viewing decks, you can visit the ancient San rock paintings or do some world-class birding on the edge of the Savute Marsh.
Finish your days with a delectable dinner in the traditional "Boma" and share your stories with other guests.
