Overview

Four 18th century Georgian Townhouses make up one of Dublin's most luxurious hotels. Today, The Merrion welcomes you with the relaxed grandeur of stunningly appointed rooms and crackling turf fires.

Order a Guinness in the lively cellar bar for an authentic Irish experience.
The Merrion is always careful to remember its 18th-century heritage. All 122 guest rooms and 20 suites are light and airy. The rooms are decorated with Irish fabrics and antiques to reflect the original interiors. The grounds are immaculately decorated with box hedges and lush flowerbeds native to The Merrion's roots.

Guests have a choice of two restaurants, The Cellar Restaurant and the renowned Restaurant Patrick Guilbaud, Ireland's only Two-Star Michelin restaurant. Patrick Guilbaud's pursuit of perfection is obvious from the immaculately presented dishes prepared from the finest local ingredients Ireland has to offer.

The Tethra Spa is one of Dublin's most refined retreats and features a beautiful infinity swimming pool. A spectacular trompe l'oeil mural creates a feeling of distance and space. The Merrion also houses a spectacular collection of 19th- and 20th-century art, which is widely considered to be one of the most important private collections in Ireland.

Old world atmosphere & service

We had a lovely stay at the Merrion - our rooms and the common areas were all significant of a five star establishment as was the service. I would never opt to stay anywhere else when visiting Dublin.

Perfect stay!

We had a two night stay between Christmas Eve and Boxing Day.
We received a friendly welcome and were escorted to our room, a Queen Standard Room. It was spacious, the bed seemed larger than a queen bed and a large bottle of free still water and a sweet delight (Christmas tree filled with a berry mousse, marzipan and other cute stuff) were waiting for us. To our surprise the bathroom amenities were by the very exclusive Asprey and there was a separate bath tub and shower.
When we asked to have Afternoon tea on a very short notice on the next day at the Drawing Rooms, the staff did everything to accommodate us.
It was also no problem to have Spaghetti Bolgonese changed into Penne or get scones without raisins.
The food was excellent and the prize fair for the quality.
Every member of staff was very friendly, efficient, discreet and respectful.
The bed was comfortable and the TV channel selection okay - a surprise was Al Jazeera in English.
We really had a great time and a relaxing Christmas. Thanks for the great stay!.
