Resorts like to lay claim to certain words: unique; impressive; tranquil. The vigilius mountain resort literally looks down on all those places and patiently asks for its adjectives back.

The vigilius mountain resort is perched high in the Alps overlooking Merano, Italy. Here, there are no rushed business meetings, no car alarm ... no cars at all for that matter. This resort is only accessible by cable car. The air is with calm and you can see your thoughts. The sparse, modern decoration almost wills you into a place of quiet.

The resort's guest rooms come with natural materials, warm colors and a gorgeous bed for enjoying the splendid view of the mountains. iPods are provided to help you fill your room with whatever music you like. At the spring water pool, vast panoramic windows blur the line between inside and out. Vigiljoch spring water flows through all treatments at the mountain spa.

Like the rest of the estate, Restaurant 1500 is unobtrusively great. Modern, natural cuisine is created from seasonal meat and produce primarily from South Tyrol. The menu also offers a choice of vegetarian and gluten-free dishes.

Guest Reviews

We go to great lengths to ensure the information and advice we provide is authentic and accurate. The guest reviews appearing on our site are written by people who booked through Kiwi Collection and stayed at the hotel. In other words, the reviews are written by verified hotel aficionados like you!

Never again, horrible!!!

We asked a few minutes after checking in to leave the hotel because it did not reflect what you would expect of a five star hotel.

Hotel has outdoor parking. For access to the garage you have to climb a steep and narrow street full of cars and people, no attempt was made to help transport luggage to the hotel. If you have a car of value is totally unsafe parking.

To reach the hotel you take a cable car, no one waits for you at the exit of the cable car, and once again you must bring your own bags to the lobby. From the lobby, we had to bring our own bags to the room (perhaps in addition to saving energy trying to also save on staff), the room spacious, simple all-wood.

Room cleaning was poor, there was dust on the furniture and floor was much worn by time. We found previous clients hair in towels and sheets.

The hotel contains two restaurants, the most typical and cute "STUBE IDA" was closed in the evening. The other restaurant "1500" where we serve breakfast too seems more like a canteen in the mountains. The only nice thing is the hotel's pool.

The Spa was disappointing with not many staff to be found. At 11:50am turkish bath and sauna were still cold and lifeless. Cleanliness a problem as towels from previous guests were left all over sun loungers.

On the outdoor terrace for two consecutive days tea cups used were not removed. The nightly turn down non-existent to say the least, do not put the mats beside the bed, slippers, and even the water is not put on the table.

After 9:30 pm room service isn't offered and there are no restaurants nearby, so either eat before or stay all night with hunger. In the rooms there is no air conditioning in the summer they must sleep with the windows open.

The hotel has no wi-fi (only a PC workstation for 41 rooms) and offers no televisions in the rooms (on request). Hotel suitable for people who are into energy conservation.

When you pay 370Euro five star services should be expected, the staff should be polite and smiling, property should be spotless clean.
