Aleenta Retreat Chiang Mai sits quietly in the foothills just beyond the bustle of the city center, far enough to feel removed, close enough for convenience. It is a 44-room boutique wellness hotel whose design marries local sensibility with conscious sustainability. Walking the grounds, you sense intention: each building, pathway, and garden seems perfectly placed.

Accommodations range from intimate spaces to expansive residential-style layouts, all framed in warm golden teak. Light filters through rice-paper-like window treatments, and furnishings balance muted wood tones with thoughtful contemporary touches. Egyptian-Cotton bedding, soft bathrobes, tea and coffee facilities, and even in-room yoga mats signal an atmosphere designed for restoration. Some quarters open onto balconies, while others feature private terraces or direct access to serene outdoor spaces, offering a gentle spectrum of moods to match the pace of your stay.

Dining unfolds gently at the resort’s own restaurant, The Garden, where produce drawn from the hotel’s garden and local sources nourishes a menu that blends northern Thai tradition with vegetarian, wellness-minded dishes and occasional Western influence. As dusk settles, quiet conversation drifts across the wood floors of 1892 Bar, housed in an original teak-wood building under a classic roof. Inside sits a 140-year-old piano. Ayurah Spa & Wellness Center is a two-story teak structure that houses treatment rooms, a yoga studio, a fitness center, and a dedicated space for healing practices. Daily group classes, from Hatha and Vinyasa yoga to Qi Gong, sound-bath meditation, and breathwork, are offered to all guests. Therapeutic treatments range from traditional Thai massage and Ayurah oil massage to body scrubs, facials, and rejuvenating therapies, including oxygen therapy and Vichy showers.
