The Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village, Doha is sensitively designed so as not to overwhelm the surrounding traditional architecture with ostentatious "resort"-style design. Its 174 rooms and suites are broken up in a delightful series of courtyards hugging more than 1,000 ft. of coastline.

But the hotel's design is far from humble - inside Sharq Village's walls, you'll find high ceilings and plush interiors fit for Arabian Nights. At night, recline by the 15,000 sq. ft. of dramatically lit outdoor pools and lose yourself in a fantasy of fairy-tale luxury.

Despite its full-service spa and exercise room, The Ritz-Carlton Sharq Village, Doha encourages decadence far more than discipline.
