Wide open panoramas, buttery leather upholstery, and winding paths between olive trees: this is Villa la Vedetta, a luxury hotel set on the hills of Florence.

A hike from the centre of Florence, Villa la Vedetta's stunning views more than make up for it.
Florence - or Firenze - is the star of the show at Villa la Vedetta, a converted, renovated boutique hotel of 18 suites. A spectacular view of the famous city of Dante Alighieri, Galileo Galilei, and, of course, Guccio Gucci (yes, that Gucci) spreads out from the slope of Villa la Vedetta. La Vedetta personifies this genteel pedigree, appointing its rooms with understated but detailed luxury: flowing silks, fine linens, marble bathrooms, bubbling Jacuzzi, and in-room Internet connection. The largest Bellavista suite includes two stories with mosaic work and two large windows to the city below.

The delightful Onice provides lavish ambiance and first-class service with their Tuscan red wines, but the fine dining of Florence is just a shuttle ride away, provided handily by La Vedetta. Stroll along the nearby Arno River and enjoy Florence's sights, smells, and sounds - and, of course, shopping. Devotees to haute Florentine fashion can even enjoy the hotel's personal shopping service.

Tre stelle al max

Hotel really disappointing, I had stayed here several years ago, with the passage of time is really in a state of total degradation both structural and staff. Booking through Kiwicollection we usually find pleasant surprises in the room, this time none of this, it seems they don't like booking through kiwicollection. No bottle of wine in the room, no fruit basket, no letter of welcome from the manager to turn down any bottle of water on the bedside table, no room upgrade to a higher category. The room we had was will assign a romantic in the annex was really terrible, had the walls of the room completely scuffed, treads on the walls of previous clients and shots of suitcases on the cabinet doors. I think the room has not been cleaned plastered and whitewashed at least five years without going overboard.. I immediately asked to change the room, the staff arrogant and unprofessional told me that I had to pay extra, just mentioned that I left the hotel gave me a room upgrade large deluxe. Surely this accommodation was more spacious than the other and in much better condition, but the decor and bathroom are really sad, dark, dated, worn by time. Around the bath marbles are yellow from the bleach used. It 'a hotel that could have potential, but should be fully renovated and well managed by competent people. Entrance lobby suggest an air freshner, the smell of damp and sweat was really sickening. In Florence you will find the best 100%. Hotel to be avoided.

Beautiful and very well located boutique hotel in Florence..

We stayed at the Villa la Vedetta for 5 nights during May 2012 and loved the hotel. Though the rooms are a bit small, they are elegantly decorated and have all necessary amenitities. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. The terrace with the view of Florence's Cathedral is perfect for a pre-dinner drink and the hotel is very well situated to reach all of Florence's main attractions.

Firenze Peretola Airport is just a hop over the river and up Francesco Baracca, merely 30 minutes' drive away. The hotel's shuttle service makes trips into town highly convenient, as the hotel does sit upon a sizeable hill.
