Sometimes, looking to the past reminds us what’s important. Waldorf Astoria Chicago has recaptured the sense of wonder from travel's golden age — and added a dose of freshness.

"So much white marble." The words run through your head as your enter the lobby of Waldorf Astoria, Chicago. A phone rings, and echoes pleasantly off the high ceiling; just then you notice the twin sculptures facing the doors: dramatic interpretations of roman-looking faces.

The 215 rooms and suites have been passionately assembled: they boast fireplaces, Carrera marble vanities and soaker tubs, and dazzling views of downtown and the Lake Michigan shoreline.

The spa is - in a word - lush. It offers a mosaic-tiled lap pool, private treatment rooms, and a men's atelier. Gent's in need of an old-fashioned shave will love the latter.

Inspired by Parisian culture, The Brasserie is a celebration of French cuisine featuring regional, Midwestern ingredients. The Brasserie will offer guests the ambiance of an established brasserie in Paris, encouraging them to celebrate at the distinguished bar, lounge and dining room. The Patisserie is a classic café where the surrounding neighborhood and hotel guests can network and connect, refuel and meet friends or stop in for a quick espresso and treat after a day of shopping.
